Amores Perros was my nomination. I kind of regret not putting Waltz with Bashir or one of Broken Social Scene OST's (Half Nelson, Tracey Fragments), I think they would have a better chance of winning a match or two.

But a great part of why I loved Amores Perros (the movie) so much was its soundtrack. This is not something I would generally listen to, but it does what I want soundtracks to do - sort of enhance the whole experience of the movie. Either the Gustavo Santaolalla's score, or the latin (probably Mexican) pop rock music, it manages to capture the mood (or more accurately "set the mood") perfectly.

If you haven't seen the movie yet, then do so ASAP.

I'm not even a big Star Wars fan but no score is more vital to a film than that one so it gets my vote...With that said Amores Perros is a GREAT film that everyone should see

Star Wars Cantina Band = The best band to ever live.

It's too bad they never publicly released an album.

I wouldn't say it's so "vital", as much as it is iconic
