The Long and Winding Road is a most beautiful song and the title cut is close behind.

On the other hand, Get Back is one of those hugely overrated pieces of late Beatle drug addled nonsense.

The rest is hardly worth noting one way or the other.

Have you heard the Let It Be... Naked version? I actually am not a fan of the "wall of sound" production on that track from Mr. Psychopath. I much prefer the stripped version from Naked.

Funny enough this is my least favorite Beatles song... I think it's incredibly sappy, but glad you like it.

Thanks for the link. No I hadn't heard that before. Very nice.

Yes, I know it's sappy, which is usually a non starter for me. Add to that that I'm not much of a Beatle fan, and I really shouldn't like this song. But for some reason, It works for me.

That seems to be the case across much of the Beatle catalog, that the songs I like the most are generally not the most popular or most acclaimed.

I really like the Long and Winding Road. As sappy ballads go, this one is supremely well constructed. I just wish they'd recorded a more definitive version. As with the whole album, you can't really disguise a demo with mediocre performances by layering strings on top. That said, the overall quality of the songs on this album still means that it is well worth checking out. Not tried the Naked version yet but will get round to it some day I'm sure.

Oh no worries. Like what you want to like. I like things people think are garbage and they like things all the time I think is garbage and both parties think they have the Truth with a capital T and they are wrong. Pluralism is where it's at. This track can equally be the worst and best Beatles track and both opinions are correct. Just sharing it's not my favorite.

Also how is across the universe not/mentioned by anyone as freaking amazing?

Across the Universe is great, but the production sucks. That chorus effect is so overbearing. I prefer the stripped back version.
