- Post subject: How about a music style filter?
|
I have been fortunate to have been around for 5 plus decades of music. However, I have hit that point in my life like my parents before me that you lose track of new music and trends because life hits you with other priorities, your time is filled with other interests, and your peers have also lost that connection. Since so much stuff comes out on a daily basis it would be nice to be able to search on a musical style that I like, rather than have to do the exploration on so much new material which I don’t have the time to do.
I know it’s a daunting task to apply a style to every album in your database as well as the issues I’m sure you would encounter defining the right style, but how about just applying a style to the artist? For example - Yes would be progressive rock, Earth Wind & Fire would be R&B, etc. it doesn’t have to be perfect but it would help us old foggies refine our search in new music.

The addition of genres/styles is something that's planned for later this year. It'll definitely be a great improvement and extremely overdue.
