- Post subject: The Nomination Booth: Harkan's Australian Albums Tournament
|
Yes, it has arrived. The wait is over. .
Alright so before the nominations start, the formalities.
RESTRICTIONS
- No more than 2 albums by any artist - even though this could be a major restriction, I don't want the final rounds to be a 2 horse race with 3 albums from one band and 3 from another (it could happen).
- There will be no redrawing - I spent a good hour making a table and splitting the album picks randomly to make for an interesting draw. If I could upload files to show you all, I would. I might just need to take a few screenies instead.
- Australian albums only - the idea of adding Kiwi ones was also in there but I think the less the countries join in things together, the less talk of New Zealand being a state of Australia will occur (and vice versa).
Also, you can nominate 2 albums for the tournament. If we get low numbers in the next few days, I will allow a second round of voting.
EDIT: Now 4 nominations per user. Some have already made 2 and are able to make another 2.
This first post will also keep up to date the nominations from 1 - 64. I'll kick this tournament off with:
Something For Kate - Echolalia
The Triffids - Calenture

Hmmm... I'll admit I haven't heard many Australian albums, so this tourny should be interesting for me.
As for my selections:
Dead Can Dance - Within the Realm of a Dying Sun
Karnivool - Sound Awake

Aussies like to steal things from the Kiwis - so I will be making loud protests of anything (ahem CROWDED HOUSE) that has a whiff of the Kiwi about them.... 🫵

That's what I figured, but I wasn't sure.
