  • Post subject: electronic classical?
  • Quote
I was working with a client today who mentioned his favorite type of music is electronic classical stuff. He mentioned some artists name that starts with an 'E'. I don't expect this thread to last long. But i'm curious if any of you know what this jackwagon could have meant?

Beautiful recommendation. I have it in my own chart. I think he meant something with more pop/dance undertones. Just wondering

Electrical + Classical? That's like tomatoes and vanilla ice cream! Just shouldn't happen!

Well it was avant garde classical composers like Edgar Varese and karlheinz Stockhausen who are among the inventors of the first electronic music:

@ptaylor: There are some albums I have seen on rym labelled as both modern classical and some electronic subgenre...but I don't know much about them.

It may be possible the person was referring to the modern avant music like electroacoustic, electro acoustic improv, or maybe lowercase/onkyo which are all kind of electronic and kind of modern-classical...though its probably a bit of a stretch.
edit: almost certainly not if the person said it had "pop dance undertones". I have no idea...

Unless you are looking for something more like that. But her name does not start with an E
