I want to know what do you think do you like it or do you hate it. As an example I like very much Brant Bjรถrk and QOTSA.

Colour Haze is my favorite stoner band. All is an underrated masterpiece.

QOTSA moved away from the rougher and more dynamic stoner rock as they went on, but yeah they still are solid. Stoner/Desert Rock is one of my favorite genres.

I'm pretty sure this is my first time seeing someone mention Colour Haze in these forums. Great band! "Stoner rock" boasts sounds and facets that connect very easily with me for some reason. Probably has something to do with me liking a lot of the bands that influenced it or even dabbled in it along the way. Sabbath, Floyd, Soundgarden, Melvins, Tool etc etc...

Mastodon is one of the bands that pushed down the doors for me. Of course they are heavier than a QOTSA and perhaps mainly more referred to as sludge or prog metal but they are definitely a branch on the family tree.

Mastodon started out as sludge metal then moved toward a progressive metal sound and then shifted gears toward stoner rock. They've had a weird evolution and I don't think any of it has been great since they gave up what they were good at in the beginning.

I got into them around the release of the Hunter, so kind of the beginning of the stoner rock heavy transition. However, as time has gone on, it's my least favorite era. I've watched them release nearly the same record 3 times in a row now.

Yeah, I think they are honestly in a slump but it happens. Hopefully they'll get their groove back somehow.
