Great album. I don't really 'get' it, I just like it a lot.

Couldn't have said it better myself. I sure don't like jazz, but this album really gets to me.

Currently #26 on my chart.

I have currently lost this album. That wouldn't be much of a problem if it wasn't TWO WEEKS OVERDUE AT THE LIBRARY 🤬

Good album

As a recently-converted jazz enthusiast, I must point that this album, while certainly "very good", is certainly not the greatest jazz album of all time. It isn't even the best jazz album of the fifties (that would be a tie between Art Blakey's Moanin', Dave Brubeck's Time Out, or Thelonious Monk's Brilliant Corners).

Of course, I guess that makes me weird, because I'd say the exact same thing about A Love Supreme, despite considering Blue Train and My Favorite Things to be basically perfect.

Well, maybe not the best jazz album, perhaps a more accessible album? Anyone should have this in their collection, even if they don't like jazz. I think this was the first jazz album I really digged.

It was one of the first jazz albums I listened to, and I didn't think it was accessible.
I thought it was the epitome of boring jazz. I don't think that about it now, but I prefer many other albums.

The easiest genre is hard bop : Moanin', Song for my Father, Go! etc
My Favorite Things is also a good one to start with.
