NEW PLAYERS: PLEASE READ THE FOLLOWING BEFORE YOU PLAY
So. This game is the Best Album Game: Non-North American/UK/Australian edition. What you do is make a list of your ten favorite albums that are NOT from any of the aforementioned regions . The one you put a TEN next to is the one you give the most points to. The one you put a ONE next to is the one you put a one next to. I'll give an example with my own entries:
10. Slaughter of the Soul-At The Gates(Sweden)
9. Akuma No Uta-Boris(Japan)
8. Once Upon a Time in America-Ennio Morricone(Italy)
7. Feedbacker-Boris(Japan)
6. Takk...-Sigur Ros(Iceland)
5. Spirited Away-Joe Hisashi and the New Japan Philharmonic Orchestra(Japan)
4. Trojan Rocksteady Boxset-Various Artists(Jamaica)
3. Phaedra-Tangerine Dream(Germany)
2. It's Five O'Clock-Aphrodite's Child(Greece)
1. Tago Mago-Can(Germany)
Slaughter of the Soul gets TEN POINTS. Tago Mago gets ONE POINT. After everyone's list has been tallied, the ten albums with the MOST POINTS from everyone's combined lists will be entered into a poll, and the album with the most votes will be THE BEA FORUMS' UN/OFFICIAL BEST ALBUM THAT IS NOT FROM NORTH AMERICA, THE UK OR AUSTRALIA!!
People will have seven days from now to get their list in. Feel free to ask any questions you might have. Let the games begin! _________________ I love all music. It makes you feel like living. Silence is death.
this is exciting, kinda points out to me how little "world" music I listen to. But soundtracks are obviously okay? (though not sure why). Sigur Ros and Can are going to dominate this ๐คฃ

I'm actually expecting Bjork and Bob Marley to dominate. Though this is one of the reasons I like this idea: I literally have no idea how it's going to turn out. _________________ I love all music. It makes you feel like living. Silence is death.
I'm going to go ahead and group Ireland in with the "no UK" thing even though most of it isn't part of the United Kingdom just because I don't want all you dingdongs going for U2 and MBV like Juan said.
As to the other questions, the Caribbean isn't part of North America I don't believe, and as to New Zealand...hmm. I personally don't know of any majorly mainstream bands that come from New Zealand so I don't think we're at risk of the whole scale being screwed with by one or two big bands, like we would be with Ireland. I'm going to go ahead and say NZ is okay.
Mexico is part of the North American continent so I don't think I can let it in in all good conscience, but South and Central America are fine.
This is turning out a little more complicated than I thought it would be ๐ค But I actually don't have a problem with that. _________________ I love all music. It makes you feel like living. Silence is death.
Hmm, okay. As long as its clear, I'm fine with whichever countries you exclude. Now I need to spend some time listening to those albums to come up with my list. Glad I have seven days. ๐
