Something new and different appeared during the purchase of Metallica tickets , for two shows in Toronto in the month of April in 2025
On Ticketmaster you had to purchase a 2 day ticket!!! Valid for both shows, each show is unique with two different setlists and two different bands opening the show each night.
I have been going for shows for many years and I've never come across something like this ,maybe this is the future.
They've been doing that for over a year, actually โย they call them "No-Repeat Weekends." Apparently they did one in Edmonton a couple of months ago. They just recently did two in a row in Mexico City...
Normally I would make a cynical joke here about how they're probably being secretly sponsored by the big hotel chains, but the fact is, if you're driving in from 200 miles away then you're probably going to want to get a hotel room on the night of the show anyway. So, this is actually a pretty good idea if you ask me, at least for bands whose fan bases are big (and enthusiastic, and financially well-off) enough to support it.
Hi Manhattan
First time for me.
You are correct, it does make sense if your travelling long distance. And I wasn't aware how this was done in Edmonton or other cities .
Here's another observation, the secondary retailers are now, selling tickets for single shows at higher inflated prices.
In the future ( maybe it's here now) you have to take a loan out to watch a show.
