I like some of the music on this release:

https://music.apple.com/fr/album/stay-i...1670768445

The problem is the album cover does not fit a Southern Gospel release. I wanted to add this release to the database, but I'm sure this is the wrong cover image. And if this is the wrong cover image, it's also most likely the wrong artist. There aren't many Southern Gospel artists with a name like Kidwai Chernezov. Does anyone here know of a way I could find out who the real artist is and find the real album cover? I have no clue how to find out.

Are you serious?

What you have here is an expectation that if someone sings and plays a certain kind of music that they will look a certain way, and that the packaging will be of a certain taste to their already captive and narrow audience. If you don't have an open mind, then you're going to be shocked by the fact that it's possible for a young woman from a non-English speaking country like Russia to make an album of country gospel music sung in English. I hope it's not upsetting that the album cover doesn't show a perfectly made up woman wearing a real estate power suit standing in front of a church. Actually, good for her for NOT putting out yet another boring photo of a singer ready for worship. Nice to see that.

Country gospel artists don't have to have perfect American sounding names. They don't have to make records that look the way you think country gospel records should look. You should maybe be open to the thought that a Russian named Kidwai Chernezov made a country gospel album in English with an album cover that is what SHE wanted to portray...not the country gospel community. You should be even happier that your favorite kind of music has a place in a country like Russia. Saying that the artist and album cover HAS to be wrong because her name and the photo is different from what you are used to? Yikes.

Being shocked that a non-stereotypical artist from another country made an album like this might suggest that you could maybe be a bit more open to what's out there in the world. Especially in music.

First of all, I'm not sure the artist is a female. There is a male voice on some of those tracks. Yes, I am aware that someone from another country can record a Southern Gospel album, but it doesn't happen very often. The name, along with a person with spikes (or whatever that is on her back) make it not very likely at all. What would be the point of a Southern Gospel artist having spikes on her back on the cover? It isn't a matter of being closed-minded. It simply makes no sense whatsoever. The cover looks more like something you'd find in a modern art museum, than on the cover of a Southern Gospel album. You can think whatever you want, but I still think it's a mistake and the wrong cover is shown on that album.

Then you don't have to add it to BEA. Your choice.

So, because the picture and the name doesn't fit your stereotype of what a Christian artist should be, it must be fake. Got it.

Good for you.

As I said, it's not about stereotypes. It's about simply not making any sense. It makes zero sense for a Southern Gospel album to have a picture of someone with spikes on their back on the cover. That's the easy conclusion one gets when they think of it in terms of what makes sense and what doesn't. All I wanted to know is if someone here knew of a way to find out more about this album, so I could find out the truth about it, and add it to BEA.

No. No stereotyping here. At ALL. It doesn't make sense to you. BECAUSE IT DOES NOT FIT YOUR STEREOTYPE.

The spikes represent lost angel wings. Russians have a thing for trying to discover real "fallen angel" fossils so they can prove that angels really existed in Northern Asia, and that therefore God is actually Russian, or something to that effect. I'm not even kidding. Who knows what goes on in their heads over there.

Meanwhile, forget the album — it's pretty obviously AI-generated. My guess would be the Russians are preparing for lots of new groups of American tourists from the Bible Belt during the next four years, and building a fake domestic gospel-music "community" is (among other things) their way of making them "feel right at home."

Not stereotyping. Common sense. It just takes common sense to see that the image doesn't make sense for a Southern Gospel album cover. Unfortunately, common sense doesn't seem to be so common these days. I did not want an argument when I posted about this. All I wanted was to know if someone here knows a way I could find out more about the album. This is another example of what I said about you being argumentative with me in general. If someone can help me find out more, and I find out this is the actual album cover and artist, then I would stand corrected. But, until I find out otherwise, I don't think this is right album cover regardless of you wanting to argue with me about it and saying that I'm stereotyping. Common sense is not stereotyping. There are just some things you don't see on the covers of Southern Gospel albums, just like there are certain things you don't see on the album covers of other genres. Like you don't see Christian images on the covers of satanic albums, for example. It's not stereotyping or being closed-minded to say that either. It's just common sense and the truth.
