Haven't yet seen The Departed ( ๐Ÿ˜  ) and haven't seen 2001 in years.... I'll try to watch both tomorrow I guess

Reasons I voted 2001:

1. 2001 is probably in my all-time top 10.

2. The Departed is not.

3. The Departed beat out LITTLE MISS SUNSHINE, BABEL, THE QUEEN AND LETTERS FROM IWO JIMA FOR BEST PICTURE, ALL OF WHICH (especially Little Miss Sunshine) WERE MORE DESERVING OF IT.

2001 can be a real chore to watch and Kubrick as done much better



The Departed is great to watch and certainly isn't a chore, although if your up for it 2001 can be more rewarding.



Still Scorsese has done much better as well

I never got the obsession people seem to have with all these crime movies - The Godfather, Goodfellas, The Departed - they're all so much sameness.

Not to mention it all serves as ridiculous glorification of pretty crappy values.
