"This is easily Kid Cudi's best album. Honest and simple rap music. He should just stay away from producing music and continue to just rap and sing.

I don't really have much to say about this album at this time.
But I WOULD like to take this moment to point out one of the things that I really like about BEA.
On one of the other album sites that I won't name (R__), they put album comments towards the top on the main album page and show them as reviews. Albummaster...thank you so much for calling them comments and for having them farther down on the album page.
Your AOTD post shows the two highest rated comments. Between the two comments, there are 40 words. On the other site, the top comment for this album is a 20 paragraph monstrosity that no one in their right mind would ever attempt to read. Followed by a review that is 9 very long paragraphs. The entire first page is taken by 8 reviews that are bloated, self-fulfilling, and that should never have happened. And then there are another 16 pages. That site apparently has a very large number of people who think that what they have to say about an album is far more important than the album itself. So thank you for a layout that doesn't make the commenter the central part of the album...and thank you, BEA people, for not going overboard and for keeping your comments (which ARE very helpful), for the most part, short and to the point. Less CAN be more. And more CAN be tedious and dull.

So thank you for a layout that doesn't make the commenter the central part of the album...and thank you, BEA people, for not going overboard and for keeping your comments (which ARE very helpful), for the most part, short and to the point. Less CAN be more. And more CAN be tedious and dull.

Tbh, the quotes on AoTD are of random quality, & the top-voted comment is sometimes too short to display here and can occasionally contain content that isn't appropriate (ended up basing the selection algorithm on number of votes and comment length but still sometimes have to delete comments from this post after publication if I spot something controversial).
Drifting more aside, something that's on the backlog here is to allow comments on BEA to be flagged as reviews so they can be treated as such (maybe worth more points than a regular comment) and surfaced in the newsletter, AoTD etc and perhaps more prominently than a 'normal' comment. The best reviews could be voted on (perhaps review of the week etc). Noted before by another user that "some great reviews get buried in a sea of one-sentence quips on more popular records". BEA could have featured reviews by users and some could be flagged as BEA's 'official review' to allow these to be surfaced, but would need to be curated regularly (perhaps via a group of users with specific permissions to ensure consistency). Most of these ideas come from the backlog and could be added once the decks have been cleared with current workload.

I would just say that if there were to be more emphasis placed on reviews, that there maybe should be a character limit. I don't know if you've looked at this AOTD entry on that other site, but the first page is something that makes me never want to see what's on page 2...and I know that the last place I will ever go to read about this album (or, for that matter, almost any other album) is that site. Character limit sounds a good idea if this happened (will make a note), not really looked at other sites but agree some kind of limit would help readers. In terms of the users that might be authoring these types of comment, need to find the right balance (might be as simple as being able to flag existing comments as reviews, or something like that, to help blend them into the site).
