...Man, gotta love self-indulgent thread-making.
Guys, you don't think of me as a troll, do you? I know that in the past six months I've often spoken out rather bluntly about artists I don't like (G!YBE, Tool, Skrillex, etc.), and while I must admit that I love creating controversy by speaking my mind in this manner, I'm starting to worry that you guys are getting annoyed about all of it.
So guys, do you think that, as long as I obviously don't put down other members (which, for the most part, I never, ever do), that it's okay for people like me to speak their mind about music they don't like?
Thank you so much in advance, guys.

I don't think you're a troll. I think your analogies could use a little work on occasion, but trolling, no _________________ I love all music. It makes you feel like living. Silence is death.

Personally, I don't mind if you start 10 new polls a day, all about the same band. Why would I ?
Is there a "rule" against doing that on BEA ?
Obviously people who spend more time in the forums are going 2 naturally, with a few exceptions of course, do more posting and or thread starting.
I don't care if you, or anyone else for that matter, start a post about your big toe. Why would/should I ?
If that is what you want as a topic then so be it. If one does not wish 2 discuss Applerill's big toe, then guess what, they can go on another thread and maybe talk about Iggy's big black dick. Am I right or am I right ?
All I can say Applerill is, Fuckem if they can't take a joke.

I think that term "trolling" gets thrown around way too much on internet forums . Everyone should feel free to express his/her opinion. The forums would be pretty boring if everyone always agreed. If you disagree, don't be afraid to express that disagreement. If you can make a strong argument that shows reflection and analysis, even better. Did someone call you a troll?

Intentionally wording something in a way that is meant to anger people, and to get a rise out of it for yourself, is by definition trolling. But I don't think anyone would call you a troll Applerill - because we see everything else you contribute to the site. It's when there are members who seem to do nothing but that it actually becomes a problem.
One thing I would recommend (although I know not everyone likes this), because I know the threads you're talking about, is maybe making it clear that it is your opinion and that you don't think you're the arbiter of music and music history (and I guess this goes for all of us at times). I think just chucking in an 'I think' etc can make things immediately less confrontational - and it's more beneficial for you because people are more ready to read your opinion and think about it rather than immediately oppose it (and that's where you end up getting some of the angry responses you did get on those threads).

Yeah, I think I gave pretty sound reasoning behind it NAPLES. And no it's not necessary 100% of the time but if you're starting a thread and the whole point of that thread is merely for you state your opinion to everyone else on something, then as I said it is beneficial for you to not automatically get everyone arced up about the topic. How did I know you'd be the first to respond to that?

Oh, my god! I agree with Naples.
