The thing is i have a very boring and hard science test this friday... so i just wonder what what do you think is the best record to have in your ears when you are studying?

Lyrics usually distract me so I tend to listen to instrumental music, or music with buried vocals, when I study. I'd recommend listening to some jazz, more of the cool/modal type. The laid-back quality keeps me from stressing out too much, which is inevitable while studying. On the other hand, throwing on some intense, avant-garde stuff might amp you up to a point where you're like "Yeah! I'm gonna kick your ass, science!", and that may work for you.

I have studied while listening to Loveless a few times. That usually takes my mind to a place in the universe where I can see things more clearly.

Try out with ambient related artists like Sounds of the Lid or Gas.

I like jazz, mostly miles davis or mingus. Pink floyd works, too.

Yeah, I find calm instrumental music to be best. So post-rock like Explosions in the Sky's The Earth is Not a Cold Dead Place is good. Also try Boards of Canada, their music sounds a bit like the music in those old science videos!

Classical music in the style of Largo (slow) seems to be the most effective music to study or concentrate by. I have two albums with a selection of Largo-based music on it. The best known pieces are by Händel, Vivaldi and J.S. Bach.
