Oh man, this is cool. I want to throw in suggestions as well. Replace:

- The Beatles with Tim Buckley.
- Bob Dylan with Morgen.
- The Rolling Stones with The 13th Floor Elevators.
- The Beach Boys with Amon Düül II.
- Led Zeppelin with The Microphones.
- Jimi Hendrix with Hawkwind.
- Pink Floyd with Family.
- The Who with The Olivia Tremor Control.
- The Band with Twenty Sixty Six and Then.
- Radiohead with Super Furry Animals.
- Stevie Wonder with Julian Cope.
- David Bowie with Jerry Garcia.
- John Lennon with Perry Leopold.
- Joy Division with Small Faces.

And you need to find some place for The Red Krayola, The Seeds, Ash Ra Tempel, Spacemen 3, Country Joe & The Fish, Taj Mahal Travellers, Third Ear Band, The Incredible String Band, Gong + others as well.

Holy christ, is this what we've come to? Telling people to change their charts until we can be happy with them?

If he wanted Tim Buckley and Hawkwind on it, he would bloody include Tim Buckley and Hawkwind! But he clearly likes The Beatles and Jimi Hendrix more, so why on earth should he get rid of them so you are happy?
