Unlike Barney, Purple Was not a dinosaur. He was constantly adapting: One month he had encyclopedic knowledge of old-school boom bap, the next he'd be unparalleled in post-rock expertise, and at the apex of his BEA career, he knew more about avant-garde jazz than anyone else I knew.
The biggest thing Keith taught me was to keep moving on, to never be content with what you know. It was this goal that made him decide to leave BestEverAlbums, and I think it's time for us to move on, if only to meet the next BEA Purple with joy when he finally comes in.
