There's some artists out there where it's almost impossible to think that they are just alright. Somebody that people either love or hate.
Who do you conncet with this description? I was thinking about KISS myself. Their style, sound and image is simply so kitschy, that if you don't like it, you probably think it's laughable.

I guess many people would kind of feel this way about Radiohead's recent output,i do kind of suspect the last two albums have been a case of 'the emperors new clothes'.

The trouble with this kind of thread is that there is always one jack-ass who is the obscure exception to the rule who decides to pipe up. Right now I am that jack-ass. 😄
I find Beefheart quite listenable without being madly in love with his stuff. In short - I think he's OK.
I ll put Kanye forward for the title right now.

Tool and The Mars Volta are the first groups that pop to mind. You can make a case for prog as a whole being a "love it or hate it" affair in general, really.

Yeah, the "harder" metals are definitely the case.
I've never met someone who only [i][sorta/i] like death metal or black metal. It's either you embrace it completely or not at all.
