"There’s just something intuitive about the way Perry and Gerrard reprise their yin-yang working relationship, as strong artistic forces that push and pull their way to some kind of complementary dynamic." - Pop Matters
You should vote for 2012 then. Everyone should do that; we have to support personal efforts of a BEA member, we can't really help that.
But really I was listening to Candles yesterday; it's much higher than expectations, really awesome . I'd rate it higher than Coexist (just liked the cover art which is like the same as the first one) or Channel Orange or even Bloom. So it's natural that I'll vote for 2012 then, right?
Just by looking at it, 2012 seems like it has no shot at taking out a proverbial giant like '67. Think again. Sure Hayden has provided some well-adored albums, but failed at grasping any sort of diversity. Psychedelica with a side of psychedelica topped with psychedelica. Like someone jamming 4 donairs down your throat and then expecting you to eat 2 more.
Essentially, even Hayden is going to have to vote against himself. Along with some of the best metal, neoclassical and pop releases in recent memory. Just because its new doesn't mean it isn't great. Maybe Forever Changes needed time to become great, but these 2012 ones are already there. So I dare those who haven't already to atleast listen to these new ones (and then vote 2012 ).
But hey, if you love choking on donairs, go with the year that's over 40 years past its prime.
(On another note, my reliable sources have told me that Hayden enjoys partaking in sexual activities with minors. And he smells. You know what the right choice is.)
