- Post subject: THE GREATEST NEWS FOR MUSIC THIS YEAR!
|
GENERATION TERRORISTS IS GETTING A 20TH ANNIVERSARY RELEASE.
THERE WILL BE 2 CD'S AND A DVD!
... AND IT'S GOING TO BE RE-MASTERED!
The last part is the best part as most people who are fans of the first Manic Street Preachers album (well even people who didn't like it actually) would agree that the production isn't too good. It's a bit on the quiet side and that isn't doing much favors considering the music played. Sure it can be a good thing when the music is stripped down but it isn't the case with this album.
But now... they are going to make it better. The Manic Street Preachers debut, the one they used to set the British charts on fire, is going to be made into the best album in the whole of history. Isn't that the best thing ever?
There will be a CD2 as well. I'm assuming there will be B-Sides on there. Well listen to all the great songs they have to use for this CD! RP McMurphy, Never Want Again, Dead Yankee Drawl, Democracy Coma etc. Just the second CD alone could be better than most of the releases that week!
And to top this all off? They have announced they will be recording an 11th Manic Street Preachers album! Can you imagine it!? An 11th Manic Street Preachers album!
Generation Terrorists 20th Anniversary album will be released 5th November 2012
Remember remember the 5th of November!
“They have more energy, anger and intelligence than any band I have ever seen. By the end of the year they will be the most important rock band in the world”
Steven Wells, NME
“All my life I’ve been waiting for a band like the Manic Street Preachers to come along”
Everett True, Melody Maker
“’Generation Terrorists’ will be the most awesome and scandalous rock record of 1992”
Amy Raphael, NME

My favourite Manics record (just about). This is certainly good news.

Generation Terrorists is now back at number 48 on the chart
Be sure to listen and get a copy as soon as possible! 1 disc edition comes with extra track 'Suicide is Painless' while the Legacy Edition comes with a WHOLE disc of unheard demos and outtakes from the first album! Little Baby Nothing has a different vocalist and lots of songs contain different words than the album!
Also it comes with a DVD with live shows and band videos! Isn't that great!?

I think the greatest news for music this year was that BED now allows custom charts.

BES would've been less drunk, however I tend to agree that one of the greatest news for music this year is the ability to make custom charts. Yes, albummaster rules!
I've only heard "Generation Terrorists" once and because of my very little knowledge about the Manics, I had no idea that they were the ones behind the fantastic "Motorcycle Emptiness". Will definitely get more into the album at some point, maybe through the remaster edition? _________________ "The Beatles, the greatest band known to mankind." - Bismah Mughal

I'd go remastered edition. As I said above, it probably is my favourite MSP album, but the quality of the audio was never brilliant. I don't know if the new version is significantly different, but I always felt the album needed a remastering job.

I guess it's one of the few cases where the album was underproduced rather than overproduced! _________________ "The Beatles, the greatest band known to mankind." - Bismah Mughal
