Thought someone might be interested. Four years after Jimmy Page was awarded the OBE, Led Zeppelin's Robert Plant received the CBE from Prince Charles, Here.
For God and the Empire, on 17 March 2004 Raymond Douglas Davies CBE received the Commander of the Most Excellent Order of the British Empire rank from Queen Elizabeth II for "Services to Music." It is about time for Ray Davies to be lifted to the next level (KBE or GBE) and earning the title Sir Raymond! the monarchy - now nothing more than unqualified, unelected diplomats - costs the tax-paying public over £150m each year.. before you factor in all the perks and luxuries.. holidays to africa, helicopter trips from one town to a neighbouring one etc
in a country about the size of california, they own castles and palaces all over the place, land as far as the eye can see.. whilst others sleep on benches and in doorways
anyone who believes in the monarchy and any of their childish medals is a cyclops.. jimmy page and ray davies have given us more than any member of the 'royal' family as far as i'm concerned _________________ no fat chicks

Couldn't agree with you more telefunker, we have monarchy in Sweden to and the only thing good about it is all the tourist money we get from it....
Which is a damn sight more than the £150million it costs to maintain...
