Hendrix, Zeppelin, Satriani, Yngwe Malmstein, B B King, Stevie Ray... what else has to be on this list?
I see that this might also be a good place to start..

But anyway, here's the chart in progress:

Blood Sugar Sex Magik has some of my favorite solos (see I Could Have Lied), but I actually think Stadium Arcadium has some of Frusciante's best stuff with RHCP. As for his solo stuff, I've only heard Niandra Lades and Usually Just a T-Shirt, but it has some crazy guitar work. Just don't go into it expecting anything like RHCP.

Some of my other favorite guitar albums include:

Daydream Nation by Sonic Youth

Slanted & Enchanted by Pavement

Maybe not as great as albums by some of the so-called guitar gods, but I really like this one for its guitar.

You're Living All Over Me by Dinosaur Jr.

I personally like Bug better but this probably has the better guitar work. Although anything J Mascis does is great.

I am completely inclined to agree that Stadium Arcadium is JF's best work with the band but that's not their most popular album and not a popular pick... well, except with people like us who appreciate that album.
