Was just listening to Tribe Called Quest... ...again... Cool

Anyway, I've always found the guest appearance by Leaders of the New School, but especially Busta Rhymes on 'Scenario' to be dandy.

It got me thinking - what other guest appearances have worked? Which ones haven't? I know that hip-hop artists often overdo it, making it a little gimmicky, but other times, it works and it's sublime. So? What do you think? This doesn't have to be just about hip-hop either.

James Mercer on Modest Mouse's "We Were Dead Before The Ship Even Sank". The songs he sang on (We've Got Everything, Florida, Missed The Boat) are all great songs. Matter of fact that whole album is underrated. Guess Modest Mouse moving towards the mainstream really turned a lot of peeps off Confused .

The Chemical Brother's "Surrender" is packed with great guest appearances: "Out of Control" (Bernard Sumner - Joy Division/New Order), "Let Forever Be" (Noel Gallagher - Oasis), "Asleep from Day" (Hope Sandoval - Mazzy Star) and "Dream On" (Jonathan Donahue - The Flaming Lips/Mercury Rev).
