....Then you don't love the album as a whole enough to put on your overall top 50.
Just sayin'.
I see where you're coming from but I respectfully disagree. Let's take my #1 album for example. I know every lyric and every nuance of Clouds Taste Metallic, and I love every song (obviously). I think every second of it is perfect. That said, 'This Here Giraffe' and 'Lightning Strikes the Postman' are personal standouts. I get what you mean, in that "you should think the whole album is perfect and therefore shouldn't be able to pick a favourite", but that just isn't entirely true. I do think the whole album is perfect, and yet there are songs I think are more perfect than others. I struggle to think of an album where every song is of equal quality in fact (except, perhaps, The Wall), and I can pick standouts from nearly every album on my Top 100. So yeah, I disagree. Sorry I don't love the albums in my chart enough.
I disagree.... but agree that if you don't like one track, it shouldn't be in your top 50... that is the point of a good album imo. An album that is complete in every way.
If you are able to name your favorite track then you don't love the album as a whole enough to put on your overall top 50.
Nonsense.

I get your point about all tracks being amazing, but I do think in the end that the "Another Brick in the Wall"-parts and a few other songs are a bit inferior to the rest of the album.

Sad if you love all the tracks on the "The White Album", but don't like "Wild Honey Pie". 52 seconds out of +90 minutes spoils the album and you have to automatically move the album to #51. _________________ "The Beatles, the greatest band known to mankind." - Bismah Mughal

There is a song on my #1 album that I feel indifferently about. Should I not have it in my top 50 just because of that? The rest of the album I love more than anything else and the album has so much personal meaning to me.
