Currently #8 on my chart, one of my absolute favourite albums.

Some Popol Vuh releases may be more immediately pretty, but the layers and contrasts of sounds on this hold up really well to repeated listens. The way the two songs contrast the world music percussion (supposedly african and turkish) against spacey synth sounds, noodling keyboards (sometimes with a middle eastern touch, sometimes jazzy) and church music (the organ on Vuh obviously) is just really really cool and smart and brilliant and perfect.

The two songs really contrast well with each other, as if they were two different approaches to spirituality; the first being tranquil and meditative, the other being colossal, sublime and overwhelming.

The Kha-White Structures bonus tracks that show up on reissues are pretty cool as well.
