Remember the Xbox 360 game Undertow? That was pretty cool.

Oh don't act be a non sequitur idiot, applepill. Tsk tsk tsk.
This is a solid, dark album. It drips with that 90s alternative production, and that over the top theatrical Maynard singing. And the whole band, every member, has their moments of pure instrumental brilliance. Some of the songs here are actually really really solid even great. "Sober" is one of the coolest rock songs of that era. Yeah, it's solid. _________________ -Ryan

Important to the growing alternative metal scene at the time (Quicksand, The God Machine, Clockhammer, Into Another, Helmet, etc) but ultimately kind of uneven. I prefer Aenima.

Tool used to be one of my favorite bands, but even then I never got into this one. Sober is good and there are a few others that are ok but most of this doesn't do enough to stand out. _________________ And it's hard to be a human being. And it's harder as anything else.

A hint at what Tool would go on to achieve with "Aenima" & "Lateralus," but they hadn't quite fleshed out their trademark sound at this point. However, others have rightly highlighted "Sober", which is for my money the band's outstanding standalone track.

Great album -- a real revelation at the time. Nobody had ever sounded or presented like that. Superior musicianship as well. I was glad to discover this one right when it first came out.
