What is the most influential album since Nirvana "Nevermind"? Or are there any? I think of an influential album as one that has changed the direction or language of popular music.

I will say this though. Nevermind did not change music per se. It changed people's perception to it.

I would have to say 'Definitely Maybe' by Oasis, which heralded the return of classic british rock to the UK charts and spawned many imitators. Also worth a mention is 'Is This It' by The Strokes, which did the same for indie rock after a few years in the wilderness and had a similar impact to Definitely Maybe by influencing thousands of young people to start their own bands

Ten - Pearl Jam
Mellon Collie and the Infinite Sadness - Smashing Pumpkins
(What's the Story) Morning Glory? - Oasis
Dookie - Green Day
Ultra - Depeche Mode
I know I was thinking of one other as well, but can't recall it now.
EDIT: Oh, right...The Bends - Radiohead, and also OK Computer, but for a different group of bands/artists.

Influential is starting to become my least favorite word. Most influential bands do nothing more than spawn legions of horrible rip-offs that the world would have been better without.
