I feel like sun tan lotion should be something else entirely. It feels like at that point we're joining forces with the sun more than anything, and I don't want that. A mutual relationship with the sun is sure to cause us to parish, and any phraseology that suggests such is out of the question. Personally the ones I know of best are sun block and sun screen, and I go with sun block. My affinity for Defago makes el bloqueador solar an attractive option, but I'll have to pass for now.

I've never heard an American call it sun cream, though I can't say I've ever discussed sun protection with anyone who isn't American.
I call it sunblock or sunscreen, I try not to call it tan lotion, because that really doesn't make any sense. Tanning lotion is like the opposite of sun protection. I guess "suntan lotion" is supposed to provide a "nice looking" tan while still protecting from the sun, but "tanning oil/lotion" is more likely to burn and harm the skin. Personally I don't get the whole phenomenon with tanning. What's the point of making one's skin a slightly darker shade? I suppose one who spends all their days inside on the computer wouldn't understand such things... _________________ 51 Washington, D.C. albums!
It's kinda necessary on the summer months... Tropical-ish weather makes it so that sun block is not an option but a necessity, if you don't want to lay in your bed moaning for a week. Also skin cancer and all that.
