About world album of the day: The BestEverAlbums.com world album of the day is the album appearing most prominently in member charts in the previous 24 hours, but not including albums from Australia, Canada, Ireland, United Kingdom or United States. If an album, or artist, has previously been selected within a x day period, the next highest album is picked instead (and so on) to ensure a bit of variety. Out of Bjorks near perfect first 4 albums, this and Post are tied for the best. Bjork does a multitude of things, from dance songs to ballads and they all work. The songs that incorporate the horn section (Aeroplane, The Anchor Song) are probably the best, and i think it's a shame she didn't do more songs like this.
Oh yeah, and as for the version which included "Play Dead" while that is a pretty great song, I feel it doesn't make as strong a closer as The Anchor Song.
Excellent debut (well, not counting the 1977 kid album nobody counts). I do prefer Post and Homogenic, but it was still a great way to reintroduce herself post-Sugarcube
Best tracks: Venus as a Boy, Human Behaviour, Big Time Sensuality, One Day, Come to Me, Violently Happy + Play Dead _________________ "De gustibus non disputandum est"
Far and away my favorite album from Björk, and is in my top hundred. I love it more and more each time hear it. Gosh, it's such an eclectic album that does no wrong. It's nearly perfect.
