I'm currently on the MI6 Community forums, which are a forum related to James Bond, and basically features the same kind of level of discussion about Bond that BEA has for albums.
There's a user named Benny on MI6C who's sporadically done very in-depth, long interviews with (as of yet) two members on the forum. The interviews have discussed the members' love of Bond, their history with the character, their favourite film, novel, gadget, etc. and other details about their lives outside of Bond. These have been done across PMs and then later posted to a topic.
It gave me the idea of interviews on here, except related to music, songs, artists, and of course, albums. Would anyone be willing to do interviews, or want to do interviews? I was a bit interested in doing some myself for anyone who wanted to be interviewed, though if there's anyone who's better at that sort of thing and would want to do them, go right ahead. We could even have more than one person doing interviews to expedite the process if there's a large queue of members who want to be interviewed.
A couple examples of topics I'd probably cover in my questions:
- What was your story/introduction to music
- Did you always listen to albums, or were you a casual listener at one point in time
- What is your favourite album/song/artist
- Is there an album or piece of music that changed your life the most
There'd be more, obviously. Anyone else think this would be a great idea?
I'll be keeping notes here about who would like to be interviewed and/or do the interviews.
I think it'd be a fun read. And we don't have enough self indulgences around these parts 😉 could be a bit of work for you though. Although maybe not once you have a question template.

Again, I wouldn't be the best interviewer, just based on the fact that I have zero experience. Worst case scenario is I do the interviews myself and become more adjusted over time, though my first couple/few will probably be poor. I'm hoping someone else here might be interested in doing them instead just for the reason that we'd get a higher level of quality. Either that, or if there's someone who could help me put the question template together.
Sounds good! Would they be conducted over some sorta online chat? I imagine they'd be a lot more organic and reflexive that way. I'd definitely be down for conducting some.
Well, like I said, on MI6C, Benny just communicates over PMs with the questions, gets the responses, then the whole thing is posted in a thread. But if you think an online chatroom would be a better, more fluid way of doing things, I'm all for it.
