It's a great album but it might be overrated. A Day in the life isn't overrated though

I think by far the most over rated Beatle's album. The studio wizardry had everyone in awe but the raw material is by far the weakest of all the proper discs from Rubber Soul onwards. (Yellow Submarine not a real album in my mind). I remember various critic polls from the eighties into the nineties where it was religiously voted greatest album ever and being dumbfounded as I didn't even think it was the best Beatles album from 1967. Anyway having said that i l still reckon it's head and shoulders better than Funeral.

When Pepper was released, it blew the minds of the whole music community. Viewing it from 1967, it was an amazing album. Years later it has slowly started fading down on music lists. Revolver and Abbey Road usually place higher ( I think Rolling Stone Magazine is the only place that puts it higher and they lost their credibility a long time ago.). The album has history behind it. It was far to creative and influential to be regarded as anything less than amazing but the hype has staled through the years. I'm happy with it being in the top 10 or 20 of these lists. I don't think it's overrated.

I don't know about album, but Radiohead is the most over-rated band ever.
