I don't know about all of these, but at the very least I know that RT's ranking system for movies is nothing like this website's.
Anyway, what I really love about this site is the size. It's not too small to have meaningful rankings, but it's also not so large that the people who don't really know anything about music distort the rankings too much. For example, imdb has a ranking system similar to this site for movies, but apparently 90% of imdb users are scrubs because "Inception" is in like the top 11 or something. There may be sites with similar ranking systems for movies, books, etc., but I've never found one that works quite as perfectly as this site, in my opinion.

Inception while maybe not deserving a top 20 slant does imo deserve to be in the top 100 all-time.
BEA should have a function that if you dont like Arcade Fire and The Beatles youre auto-banned.
Well I'm not saying that, I'm just saying that we have enough people here who are knowledgeable enough on music that our overall rankings more or less reflect the general consensus of the avid music-listening community. On the other hand, imdb's rankings more reflect the opinions of the entire population. Not that that's inherently a bad thing, I just don't get as much out of a list like that as I do out of a list like the ones on BEA.

Really? I see our overall chart here as a "beginner's guide to music" of sorts. Id rather have a larger sample size but I doubt it would even change anything that much.
