Let's say you are in a record store or online, and you're looking for an album to take a chance on buying. Or, say you're going out tonight, and you're looking at the names of the local bands who will be onstage tonight.
My questions are these: without having ever heard this band, or knowing anything at all about them other than their name...
...what would be your first thoughts about a band named Mariachi Static? Would you be willing to take a blind chance on them? What would you think they might sound like?

I initially read it as Mariachi Satanic so I might be biased, but I think of a really noisy punk band.

Heh...I just got an image of Rolling Stones songs done mariachi style. The album could be called Her Satanic Mariachi Request.
Interesting. I never saw that in the name. It's from a song lyric, by the way.

Uh...duh...
Sounds like ambient or post rock with fiery scratchy little bursts that careen all over the place. Whatever that means.
