You know how sometimes people come up with these really dumb/awkward play on words jokes called puns? I'd like to hear the dumbest ones you've ever heard. I'll start with one - my screen name. Hyper + bully= hyperbole. Get it? I just thought of it randomly one day and decided to make it my screen name.

wow, after looking at your avatar, i read through what you'd written and heard brian from family guy narrating it in my head
it even sounded like something he would say!
i have no good or bad puns to offer right now, but it would appear that much of humour comes from a momentary perplexion on the part of the subject, when he/she is presented with some information which in some way makes logical sense and in some way does not. it's like a little trip wire for the brian. brain that is.. _________________ no fat chicks

I'm a geologist, we have so many retarded puns it's retarded. Jokes about bedrock, schist (can sound like shit), gneiss (pronounced 'nice'), buttes (not really pronounced like butt, but you get it), and cummingtonite (actual mineral) come to mind.

Sadly the guy who discovered cummingtonite was fired on sexual harassment charges. If not for that sad day geology would have been much more fun.

haha.. i can just see some online new-age con merchant selling 'cummingtonite extract' aphrodisiac pills
seriously, that must get old quickly in geology, but that first time you hear it must be a blast! _________________ no fat chicks

Geology is still fun. Along with our shitty (or schisty puns) we're also known for drinking. Along with being a college student, this has pretty much given me a socially acceptable route (at least within the group of other majors) to binge drink every night for the past couple months. No break nights. No joke. Probably not good for my health.
Anyway, geology departments are definately the coolest, most laid back on campus. Sorry for the digression

I was mixing a film last week and the boom op and I were discussing where he should boom from in the next shot, and he asked "so you think that's a sound idea" he claimed the ridiculous pun was totally unintentional.

That's actually a funny pun - because it's the type that can float under your radar since in any other context given the same conversation it's not even a pun. Quite witty, actually.
A bad pun would be more like "Why couldn't the farmer get his cows to mate? They weren't in the mooood." _________________ <(: @ :)>
