OK, as many of you know, we'll soon be starting a text-based music blog, focusing largely on new music across (hopefully) the entire spectrum of pop music. First and foremost, we need a name. As set out previously, everybody who has put their name down to help gets two suggestions, which will then be put forward to a vote.

Above are all the people who have so far expressed some interest in helping out. If you could all suggest two possible names for the blog, that'd be fantastic, and I'll add them to the OP as they are made. If you would like to maybe write a few words about why you chose the names, it might help sway people's opinion. I'm going to kick things off.
The Hoi Polloi
Hoi polloi is an Ancient Greek expression that means "the majority" or "the many", and is largely used to refer to the common man or the prole population. I like the way it rolls off the tongue, and it fits in with the idea that the blog will be an unpretentious look at pop music in all its forms.
The Fifty-One Fifty
5150 is a California welfare and institutions code that allows a police officer to involuntarily confine a person due to mental illness.
Anyway, there's no rush. Put forward suggestions that are genuine please. And come up with something good. Cheers guys.
To be honest, I envisioned the blog as a separate entity to BEA, albeit it with links throughout back to the site (i.e. under each article there would be a link the author's chart). So no.
I like lethal's idea that the name could refer to the everyman... like an anti-p4k. Here are two other ideas along those lines.
The Mouths Next Door - Combines the expressions "from the mouths of babes" and "the girl next door," suggesting that the reviews are being written by ordinary people.
Ears of the Streets - Similar, but not from any expressions. Just saying that the reviews are based on the ears of ordinary people on the streets.

I should have probably thought of some names before posting... ๐ค Will come back. _________________ Doubles & Conch
