Now there's been all this talk about aliens (I WANT TO BELIEVE) - here's another sci-fi topic for you guys.
Time travel : some get to meet giant bunny rabbits, others get to meet cyborgs ; if you were given a (return) ticket to see one of your favourite bands live, but will never have the chance because of TIME, who would it be ?
It could be an up coming concert or a past concert of course.
For myself, I have several ideas : Joy Division, of course, their gig at Les Bains Douches in december 1979 sounds great ; and then 2 years ago I wanted to see Sparklehorse in Paris, but never did (and never will).
But my pick will have to be a random Velvet Underground concert somewhere in 1969, jamming on "Sister Ray" and "What Goes On"... Yeah, that sounds good, when do we leave ?

it's gotta be Detroit, early 1970s, seeing Iggy cut himself, get a blowjob, rub peanut butter on himself, do acrobatics, etc.
I also think Iggy, Bowie, and Reed were all hanging out together for some time in Berlin (I think). Probably just a fantasy show, but imagine seeing those three pump out Stooges, Iggy Pop, David Bowie, Lou Reed, and old Velvet Underground jams during that Berlin era... one of the poppiest yet most experimental shows ever, and probably the saddest

I wish I could go back to 1996 and give Pinkerton a perfect review. Hopefully that wouldn't make me look emo.

Yeah, who knows ?
Depending on how long we'd be allowed to stay without disrupting the time continuum, maybe we could meet up ! We could even stumble across some cool krautrock gigs !

Take me to the East Village, Manhattan, New York on March 12 and March 13 1971 to see The Allman Brothers in the "Church of Rock n Roll", the two gigs that would become the greatest album of all time.
If there are no seats available in that time slot, any time around that will do as they played the Fillmore East so often that they were referred to as Bill Graham's House Band.

Ooooh, just thought of Camel's "Snow Goose" tour, with live orchestra. That would be amazing.
