Buy it, download it, steal it. Essential listen. Singing "25 Minutes To Go" in front of that crowd. Cash had more balls than even Bork.

Also, even though the track isn't on the standard album The Legend Of John Henry's Hammer is a masterpiece.

Fans of this should check the complete Live at San Quentin. It really captures his live persona and includes songs with Carl Perkins and other country legends.

Cash was my first country venture and he's probably the most accessible classic country artist if you're a fan of rock music. Standout tracks include "Folsom Prison Blues," "Long Black Veil," and "Orange Blossom Special."

!

At Folsom Prison is, as those above me said, a classic. Probably the best live album EVUR.

The songs themselves aren't anything hugely special, but damn, this album captures something really magical. There' just something awesome about hearing a crowd of inmates forget everything they've done and what everyone else has done and just appreciate some great tunes, and this album puts you right there with them.

One of my few 100/100 albums.

There was a comment on this album on this site (too lazy to look it up) to the effect of "When I listen to this album it's 1968 and not even my computer can convince me otherwise". This sums up my feelings for this album. There is something positively surreal about Cash's delivery on this album that makes you feel like you've been ripped from your computer chair and plopped right in the middle of Folsom Prison, 1968. 100/100 e'er'day.

Are y'all commenting based on the original release or the more complete Legacy edition? I haven't heard the latter, but am wondering whether it's worth checking out.
