I know that the solo artist and the best year tournaments are going but I had a brainwave.
MUSIC VIDEOS!
It requires minimal effort from all parties concerned.
As long as there is a link to the video on YouTube or Vimeo etc., then it should be watchable and judged accordingly.
Yes/No?
FEATURES
-quick turnaround on matchups (2 days or so)
-judged on the video rather than the song (so concert footage may not be as appealing as narrative-driven)
-nominators don't have to champion the video (it's there for all to see - no further spruiking)
-large number of new videos (new and old) to look at
