I was listening to Godspeed You! Black Emperor just now and I had idea. What if BEA held a Best Album Outside the Top 1000 Tourney? Any album outside the top 1000 would be eligible. If an album goes into the top 1000 during nominations, then that user must change their nomination. If an album goes into the top 1000 during the tourney, however, it stays in the tourney. One nomination per user. Let me know what you think. If enough people support this, then I'll start a nominations thread in the games section.

I'd almost rather have a top albums outside of the top 5000 tourney. Usually that means that only one, maybe two users have those albums on their charts, and those are the ones I really like finding. _________________
Yeah I started an out of the top 2000 tournament but didnt finish it due to getting 4 or 5 votes per match and little to no comments. I WAS thinking of restarting it, but allowing less nominations to maintain interest, we had 86 last time and most peoplecouldnt listen to 86 albums in a month. Of there's interest we could redo one with 32 moms.

Yeah shitty cellphone autocorrect. I believe the last tournament failed due to the sheer amount of new albums to listen to, and the time it took to do the first round matchups. If there were to be less albums, there'd definitely be more participation and shorter round times.

We should have a Best BEA Parents tournament. Someone can nominate one of their parents and then tell people their tastes and we can vote on whose parent has the best taste. I'll be the foster parent of any orphans who ask. ๐คฃ
