Side A is REAAALLY good. Some of the best work Phoenix has ever put out. The later half is a bit weak though.. Still my second favourite by them though.

Does anyone have a copy of their early work with Daft Punk? I've never been able to hear it.

What work with Daft Punk are you alluding to?

those seem to be the main 2 in circulation. 18 sounds a lot more like what you'd expect them to sound like than 33.

Love this album. Easily my favourite of theirs. Consolation Prizes, Long Distance Call, Lost And Found, North and Sometimes In The Fall are all classics. It balances being breezy with an urgency perfectly which I think is what Phoenix (and possibly the French in general :p) do best.

Terrific album. Second best of theirs. Catchy, nuanced pop songs. Not perfect, but still plenty enjoyable. After nearly a decade, this holds up really well.

Track picks
2. Consolation Prizes
4. Long Distance Call
8. North
9. Sometimes in the Fall
