Day 1
Well, well, well. Here we go then.

Who's Next by The Who
I wanted to start the day with a powerhouse of an album, and a powerhouse is what I got. This album just soars from anthem to anthem, without any breathing space left between and I love it for that. Although Quadrophenia is my favourite Who album, I don't think they've ever sounded better than on this album. _________________

First proper listen to this. I've heard the key singles and loved them to pieces, however the rest of the album doesn't seem as compact as them. Definitely a more commercial sounding album than their first 4, however that's definitely not a bad thing. There's just something about this album that rubs me the wrong way. Dunno. _________________

First listen. It might be one of the most boring and samey albums I've ever heard. If I had a pound for every time he said his own name and 'nigga', then I would be loaded. Every track just sounds the same and some of the lyrics just come across as arrogant. I would like some more rap/hip hop recs, but so far, I don't think it's for me. _________________

Sad you weren't a fan, I quite liked that album ... anyhow, if you've not tried Madvillainy, obviously, do that. or if you're looking for something hip hop like but that you're more likely to like, maybe Demon Days by Gorillaz? Some rap on there, it's a nice transition if trying to find what you like, I'd say it's not a hip hop album but a good way to introduce yourself to some of the styles. _________________

I've heard every Gorillaz album, Demon Days was my least favourite. I loved the singles (Feel Good Inc, Dare etc), but the album tracks just seemed filler-ish. I adore their debut and Plastic Beach though! _________________

The record that made me like hip-hop is this one :

The Shape Of It by True Live
I still like it a lot. Maybe it would change your perspective?
The other two landmark hip-hop records for me where Biggie's Ready To Die (the first one I truly loved) and Mobb Deep's The Infamous (the first one that totally blew away each single piece of my mind). I used to dislike that genre as well, so take it from someone who's been in your situation.

Will add that to my listen list, will hopefully cover it in this log too, thanks! _________________
