This album is incredible. The closing track is the best song of the year in my opinion. It has a few draggy moments, which is why it's only going to be #2 of the year, but it is insanely good - I really cannot recommend it high enough. It's like The National covering Carly Rae Jepsen, outside of the last track which is undsicribably beautiful, and probably top 10 songs of all time for me.

Not a great album, but good, and some very good songs on here.
I’ve come to realize for the majority of what Rise Against does I’d just much rather listen to a 90s Offspring record (or even Strung Out or Strike Anywhere’s early output). But with this said I do think The Black Market is probably the best thing since their third album which is surprise since they were on a mediocre cruise control ride since The Sufferer & the Witness went out and I couldn’t stand the following records at all and I’ve been pretty charitable towards Rise Against in the past. There’s some blurbs here and some predictable pop-punk movements which sort of water downs the melodic hardcore here but it doesn’t offend me so I can find myself bobbing my head along. It’s not going on my 100 but I don't hate it.
OK, I love Love Will Tear Us Apart, too. That'd probably be number 2.

SHUT UP BOLDY. OK, the only other song I've consistently loved as long as those, I think, is Dear God by XTC. I'm putting that as 3. Trojans by Atlas Genius is my favorite song to come out in recent years and has a lot of nostalgia with friend stuff, so that'll be 4.
