My current favorite album and probably all time number one.
I let it sit here at the highest spot in my ranking of my musical experiences!
Underrated and overlooked masterpiece! Lady Fantasy is one of the best songs I've ever heard in my life and it still sound so fresh to me - I just never get bored of it!
Key Tracks: All songs!
Honorable Mentions: Camel - Moonmadness; Camel - The Snow Goose; [First added to this chart: 07/28/2018]
Radiohead's third studio album and their in my opinion best one. A must have in any Top 100! A must listen for every music fan, this is like an own genre!
Radiohead's albums always take me in a mystic, surreal, abstract world and still keeps me there in my mind, even for days. Thom York's vocal performance is from another world, so unique and magical. The musical aspect takes you in an unknown place, but the lyrics are telling about this known world and real-life struggles. You have to enjoy this record as a whole package, but it also has some magnificant songs that can work as his own.
The concept is perfectly delivered and keeps the quality-bar always high with tracks like 'Karma Police' even higher and higher until it finishes. I really needed more than a week to "digest" this piece of art at my first listen through. The best band an their magnum opus, what should I say more... enjoy it if you haven't!
Key Tracks: Airbag; Paranoid Android; Karma Police; No Suprises; The Tourist;
Honorable Mentions: Radiohead - Hail To The Thief; Radiohead - Moon Shaped Pool; [First added to this chart: 06/07/2018]
Love this LP and I love the track: 'I know it's over'!
Because of this masterpiece I have started to listen to every The Smiths album and song. Morrisey has such an unique voice. It is so sad, opera-ish, clean and yes divinly beautiful. Of course this LP is my most favorite and of course 'The Smiths' and 'Meat Is Murder' is great too. Name me one Band who were greater and more influential wihtin their first five years in their career. You just can't. Since their astonishing debut (The Hateful Of Hollow), which was a compilation, The Smiths set their mark in the music world and this wihtin only half of a decade.
Everything is right and on point. The guitars, the vocals, the bass, the drums - what an atmospheire and 'I know It's Over' is the saddest and best song ever!
Key Tracks: I Know It's Over; Never Had No One Ever; Bigmouths Strikes Again; There Is A Light That Never Goes Out; Some Girls Are Bigger Than Others;
Honorable Mentions: The Smiths - Strangeways Here We Come; The Smiths - Hateful Of Hollow; The Smiths - Louder Than Bombs; [First added to this chart: 07/03/2018]
Of course there is a Beatles album in my top ten! Every song here is great, catchy, innovative and so timeless. And I think this is their best album!
This doulbe LP has no song that I would skip. It flows so good from song to song I get like something completely different (very unpredictable).
And 'While My Guitar Gently Weeps' and 'Happiness Is a Warm Gum' are bomb tracks!
Key Tracks: Almost everything!
Honorable Mentions: The Beatles - Magical Mystery Tour; The Beatles - Let It Be; The Beatles - Help!; [First added to this chart: 06/21/2018]
The most influencial album in the 2000's and overall one of the best and greatest albums ever produced!
Honorable Mentions: Arcade Fire - The Suburbs; Arcade Fire - Neon Bible; [First added to this chart: 09/06/2018]
Yes, Radiohead again and of course it is 'In Rainbows', my second favorite RDHD LP of all time!!
Key Tracks: 15 Step; Bodysnatchers; Nude; Jigsaw Falling Into Place; Videotape; [First added to this chart: 06/20/2018]
This album is pure excellence and was way ahead of his time!
The best debut album in music history!
Key Tracks: Epitah; In The Court Of The Crimson King; Moonchild; I Talk To The Wind; 21st Century Schiziod Man;
Honorable Mentions: King Crimson - Discipline; [First added to this chart: 08/13/2018]
This is still the most unique sounding record, that I ever experienced!
Key Tracks: Only Shallow; When You Sleep; Sometimes; [First added to this chart: 06/27/2018]
The first and best Pink Floyd album that I listened through! What should I say more it is absolutely fantastic, the delivery is peerless and it is so innovative like no other Pink Floyd record.
The concept flows so smooth through each track. All of them are one of a kind in their style, but there is yet a similar handsign.
Such a groundbreaking and important album in musical history!
Key Tracks: All songs!
Honorable Mentions: Pink Floyd - Meddle; Pink Floyd - The Piper At The Gates; [First added to this chart: 06/27/2018]
A band with so many great records and this is their best one!
Key Tracks: Rock'n Roll; Stariway To Heaven; When The Leave Breaks;
Honorable Mentions: Led Zeppelin - Led Zeppelin III; [First added to this chart: 08/22/2018]

Top 100 Greatest Music Albums ratings
av = trimmed mean average rating an item has currently received.

Outliers can be removed when calculating a mean average to dampen the effects of ratings outside the normal distribution. This figure is provided as the trimmed mean. A high standard deviation can be legitimate, but can sometimes indicate 'gaming' is occurring. Consider a simplified example* of an item receiving ratings of 100, 50, & 0. The mean average rating would be 50. However, ratings of 55, 50 & 45 could also result in the same average. The second average might be more trusted because there is more consensus around a particular rating (a lower deviation).
(*In practice, some charts can have several thousand ratings)
This chart is rated in the top 4% of all charts on BestEverAlbums.com. This chart has a mean average rating of 88.0/100. The trimmed mean (excluding outliers) is 89.0/100. The standard deviation for this chart is 8.6.

Very cool chart with some great discoveries!
24 albums in common !! Wow !
@Pretender nice question hmmm, well I can't think of any so called "shame album". But I really enjoyed the Red Hot Chili Peppers - Californication back then, if that is considered a "shame album" ^^
I also loved Nirvana, which was my favorite band - but now I discovered Radiohead and Beatles and so on...
But Nirvana is still a solid band in my point of view, when you consider their influence etc... (off topic).
Good choices all around, you've clearly done your research! I feel like the back half of the chart is where your taste really comes through--and its still excellent! Really love seeing Fishmans, Sweet Trip, The Chameleons, and The Avalanches!
So much good. Well done
Outstanding chart - we own a lot of the same albums. Of course, I'm going to have to give a go to your favorites I don't possess.
I love the honesty that comes through in your notes! Lots of classics here (no bad thing) though I find the second half of your list much more enthralling. Still - great to see Dinosaur Jr sneaking in near the top!
Not a lot of low ranked albums. Feels like an 'objective' top list. Don't you have any 'shame-albums' you just can't help loving?
Really enjoyed this chart, so many absolute classics.
