My all time number one!
I let it sit here at the highest spot in the ranking of my musical experiences!
Underrated and overlooked masterpiece! And Lady Fantasy is one of the best songs I've ever heard in my life and it still sound so fresh to me - I just never get bored of it! This album is like a complex poetry, where the inner layers show up through the time and you can observe the deeper meanings, thoughts and the sophistication of it.

Key Tracks: All songs!

Honorable Mentions: Camel - Moonmadness; Camel - The Snow Goose;

Hint: There will be no Live-Albums and no Compilation-Albums for this chart!

Radiohead's third studio album and their in my opinion best one. A must have in any Top 100! A must listen for every music fan, this is like an own genre!
Radiohead's albums always take me in a mystic, surreal, abstract world and still keeps me there in my mind, even for days. Thom York's vocal performance is from another world, so unique and magical. The musical aspect takes you in an unknown place, but nonetheless the lyrics are telling about this known world with its real-life struggles. You have to enjoy this record as a whole package, but it also do have some magnificant songs that can work on their own.
The concept is perfectly delivered and keeps the quality-bar always high with tracks like 'Karma Police' even higher until it finishes. I really needed more than a week to "digest" this piece of art at my first listen-through. The best band an their magnum opus, what should I say more... enjoy it if you haven't!

Love this LP and I adore the track: 'I know it's over'!
Because of this masterpiece I have started to listen to every The Smiths album and song. Morrisey has such an unique voice. It is sound melancholic, opera-ish, clean and divinly beautiful. Of course this LP is my most favorite and of course 'The Smiths' and 'Meat Is Murder' is great too. Name me one Band who were greater and more influential wihtin their first five years in their career than this band. You just can't. Since their astonishing debut (The Hateful Of Hollow) - which was a compilation - The Smiths set their mark in the music world and this wihtin only half of a decade.
Everything is right and on point. The guitars, the vocals, the bass, the drums - what an overall atmospheire!

Key Tracks: I Know It's Over; Never Had No One Ever; Bigmouths Strikes Again; There Is A Light That Never Goes Out; Some Girls Are Bigger Than Others;

The first and best Pink Floyd album that I listened through! What should I say more it is absolutely fantastic, the delivery is peerless and it is innovative like no other Pink Floyd record.
The concept flows so smooth through each track. All of them are one of a kind in their style, but there is yet a similar handsign.
Such a groundbreaking and important album in musical history!

Rating metrics: Outliers can be removed when calculating a mean average to dampen the effects of ratings outside the normal distribution. This figure is provided as the trimmed mean. A high standard deviation can be legitimate, but can sometimes indicate 'gaming' is occurring. Consider a simplified example* of an item receiving ratings of 100, 50, & 0. The mean average rating would be 50. However, ratings of 55, 50 & 45 could also result in the same average. The second average might be more trusted because there is more consensus around a particular rating (a lower deviation).
(*In practice, some charts can have several thousand ratings)

This chart is rated in the top 4% of all charts on BestEverAlbums.com. This chart has a Bayesian average rating of 88.4/100, a mean average of 88.5/100, and a trimmed mean (excluding outliers) of 89.0/100. The standard deviation for this chart is 8.2.

Have a soft spot for Camel so loved that they're someone's top pick. The the rest of the list was a bit generic, as far as this site is concerned, but it got better in the bottom half.

Never heard of Camel, so I thought the chart was going to be interesting... I was wrong. Just another chart that proves this site is a fucking hivemind. And after listening to Camel I completely understand why it's forgotten; there were a dozen of prog rock albums of that type around that time. "That type" being try-hard to the point that you wanna shout "no, you're not out-of-the-box yet, your hour-long guitar solo is simply going nowhere". Don't worry though, I think the big prog rock albums are just as try-hard.

@Pretender nice question hmmm, well I can't think of any so called "shame album". But I really enjoyed the Red Hot Chili Peppers - Californication back then, if that is considered a "shame album" ^^
I also loved Nirvana, which was my favorite band - but now I discovered Radiohead and Beatles and so on...
But Nirvana is still a solid band in my point of view, when you consider their influence etc... (off topic).

Good choices all around, you've clearly done your research! I feel like the back half of the chart is where your taste really comes through--and its still excellent! Really love seeing Fishmans, Sweet Trip, The Chameleons, and The Avalanches!
