cool stuff
by
LedZep
A snapshot of my favorite music. Not to be taken too seriously, since reducing someone's taste to just 100 entries is a hopeless oversimplification. I'm slowly adding notes for each entry: preferred versions (with runtime and essential bonus tracks), genre/style/mood blurbs and a few lines which are mostly lyrics, but sometimes it's vinyl sleeve excerpts, interview fragments, or whatever else I dug up. Lyrics usually aren't my main focus, but it's nice for adding context and a bit of character to the chart.
* my English translations of regional texts are usually imperfect (I'm not a poet nor a translator, unfortunately)

The middle ground between noise, madness, punk and his later balladry (down here for your soul)
In heaven his throne is made of gold
The ark of his testament is stowed
A throne from which I'm told
All history does unfold
Down here it's made of wood and wire
And my body is on fire
And god is never far away [First added to this chart: 09/13/2020]

A bunch of poor bohemians interested in ethnology and ganja playing Yugoslavian new wave music (theater crew)
U čekaonu na prvom peronu
Gdje crni đav'o toči prvi konjak
Iznad mračnih podnatrulih lica
Kroz prozor prhne črna tica
I veli tada, veli grdi črni stvor:
Nevermore
In a waiting room on the platform one
Where the black devil pours his first cognac
Above the dark, worn-down faces
Through the window darts a black bird
And then it says, that vile black creature it says:
