The perfect pop moment.
The voice. The beat. The lyrics. The production! People will write songs for many many many years to come and I'll bet my socks only 2 or 3 will come anywhere close to Be My Baby. Perhaps the best choice for a first dance song at a wedding ever, if I do say so myself. (Edited)
Brian Wilson from The Beach Boys said this was his favourite song. It also inspired him to write "Don't Worry Baby", which is one of my favourite songs. (Edited)

dum dum dum tss - reminds me of the Just Like Honey intro.
Anyway, I agree this sounds very Beach Boys-ish, definitely Pet Sounds-ish. I love The Ronettes! (Edited)
