Rating metrics: Outliers can be removed when calculating a mean average to dampen the effects of ratings outside the normal distribution. This figure is provided as the trimmed mean. A high standard deviation can be legitimate, but can sometimes indicate 'gaming' is occurring. Consider a simplified example* of an item receiving ratings of 100, 50, & 0. The mean average rating would be 50. However, ratings of 55, 50 & 45 could also result in the same average. The second average might be more trusted because there is more consensus around a particular rating (a lower deviation).
(*In practice, some tracks can have several thousand ratings)

This track is rated in the top 1% of all tracks on BestEverAlbums.com. This track has a Bayesian average rating of 91.2/100, a mean average of 90.0/100, and a trimmed mean (excluding outliers) of 91.5/100. The standard deviation for this track is 15.1.

"I don't know how to start this"
Then proceeds to spit one of the greatest verses of all time.
Also this is possibly the greatest beat ever. The grimey bassline mixed with the eerie piano chord creates an atmosphere completely unique to this song.

I like this track because it shows in which area Nas was living to this time. And the best part is the sleep is the cousin of death. And the beat is genius.

Though Nas's flow is insane on this track, I think what really elevates it is the syncopated beat and the piano part. It mixes so tightly with his lines that it gives off a feeling of unease, yet intrigue, like you're holding on to every single word that he says though the line ties over to the next measure. It's so well done and it may be my favorite rap track of all time!

"I never sleep, 'cause sleep is the cousin of death." This might be my favourite line in rap music.

He says he doesn't know how to start it and then completely makes the beat his b**ch.

"I never sleep, 'cause sleep is the cousin of death" might be the best lyric in hip-hop and among the very best lyrics, period.
