It may seem weird that this great piece of music became a hit (dark, passionate, almost impossible to dance to) but it did. Very strong vocal work from Midge Ure. A prime example of the New Romantic movement in new wave music. Of course also a beautiful video clip that has undoubtedly contributed to the success of "Vienna".

That descending piano riff is thoroughly spine-tingling, and a standout moment in all of New Wave. Oozes new romantic coolness from every angle yet is incredibly heartfelt and melancholy too.
One of the best singles ever.
