One of the towers, the pinnacles, the absolute *peaks* of music made to make you dance. Its beat plays like it'll never be satisfied until everyone in the room is moving; the bass, unrelenting and unstoppable, is as infectious as it gets; those vocals tell the story of how you wish every night out could be.
'Good Times' is a journey in its own right. It arrives with vigour, builds through those choruses with total cohesion. And then bam - the whole song breathes for a moment in the middle, stripping everything back and rebuilding it from the ground up. The strings that bring drama, the piano that brings flourish, and the guitars that give it shine; it's like every element gets its moment to show off.
This is truly unparalleled songwriting. A defining moment in the disco genre, a rock around which dance music and dance culture has been anchored ever since. It's an anthem, a tune, a manifesto even. 'Good Times' is everything that dance music is supposed to be.
