Modest Mouse has arguably made 3 or 4 times as many "quality" albums as NMH. NHM has Aeroplane, but that's really it.

But the argument is that Aeroplane is better individually than all the Modest Mouse albums.

Yes, and I said on the last page that I thought Aeroplane is better than any MM album. But I don't think it is quite fair to frame the conversation as "quality vs quantity" when both bands have made great albums.

I voted NMH. I've been loving ITAOTS recently, to an extent that I've never loved a MM album.

NMH doesn't have much quantity. 2 albums. Haven't made one since 1998.

Well they broke up in '99.
But then again, 100% of their albums are amazing, you can't say that about Modest Mouse.

I think that Modest Mouse and Built to Spill would be a better comparison. They sound much more similar than NMH does.

That's exactly like saying Led Zeppelin would be a great band if they only had two albums. Just because you made two great albums and no other albums doesn't mean your a better band. But they were great for what they had, I'll give then that.

If they broke up after LZ2, then yeah 100% of their music would be good, it's like if the Beatles never broke up, and made lesser albums after that, they would be held in lower regard. Just think if The Rolling Stones broke up after Exile on Mainstreet, they would be held in higher regard. NMH broke up at the right time.
