Laughing Stock is supercalifragilisticexpialidocious.

Not sure about Spirit of Eden yet.

I don't remember how they sound like at all, all I remember it listening to them and not liking them, I'll give Talk Talk another go.

Anyways, Talk Talk is one of my favorite bands, and if I could make music, I would use them and early Tortoise as a template upon which to create my music.

Great combination. I would also add Matching Mole.

Somewhere you've never been

Spirit of Eden and Laughing Stock are both great. Spirit of Eden is slightly more consistent though.

The actual best. I actually like their new wave stuff nearly as much as their later masterpieces.

Spirit of Eden and Laughing Stock sound like nothing else. It is amazing how the band evolved from their early records.
