I've been listening to this a few times here and there over the past year, but for some reason, it had always failed to really grab my attention. I love it, but I can't stop my mind from wandering during it. Maybe it's a good thing? I don't know. Also it's striking how much it sounds like a crossover between Talk Talk and Antony & The Johnsons. I don't mean this in a bad way, all bands are crossovers of other bands. It's just that it's strong on this one.
Good album, this. It's a real toss-up between this and its successor for my favorite Springsteen album.
Anyway, I'm not listening to it right now, but I've had this spinning in my car all week:
The Piper at the Gates of Dawn - Pink Floyd (1967)
Never fails to blow me away with each listen. There's always something new to be discovered here. As much as I love DSOTM and WYWH, I can't help wishing they'd put out more stuff like this.
I was intrigued by the name of the band and what I've found is indeed a complete mindfuck. Is the music good?
giving this one another listen, seeing as it's piqued other's interest. 'Up Beat' caught my attention the most, got to love the song name 'Kim Gordon's Panties' as well. "SUPERPUSSY SUPERPUSSY SUPERPUSSY" _________________ I AM A CRACKED MACHINE
